I love this water fountain for my three cats. They have all had kidney/bladder infections over the years and this is a great way to provide fresh running water and encourage them to stay properly hydrated. Love it. They were scared the first day but now they drink so much I have to refill the canister about every 4 days.

bought the platinum drinkwell several months ago. I think it’s a very well made product. However, bigger than I anticipated and I wish that the water flow adjustment could go lower since my 2 scaredy cats are not very comfortable with even the gentlest setting. They don’t seem to know how to drink, while avoiding getting their head dripped on by water. So I rigged up something that will make the water flow down the back wall and not make any noise or splash whatsoever. They like it now. The reservoir holds a lot of water. It isn’t too much of a hassle to clean. Overall, very pleased with it. Although I think I wouldn’t mind a smaller version of this.

I ordered the Pet Fountain Kit for my two dogs because I didn’t want them drinking stagnant water. The fountain is easy to assemble and simple to operate. You should know when buying a water fountain that they should be cleaned thoroughly weekly to keep it operating correctly. My two dogs go through quite a bit of water on a daily basis, therefore I have to fill the water tank pretty often. There is a larger reservior available that attaches to the fountain and I may end up ordering that. So, if your pet(s) drink a lot of water, you may want to order it when ordering the fountain. My dogs and I are very please with this product.

I really didn’t expect this fountain to be so large, but it is very nice otherwise. The size becomes a burden when moving and cleaning the fountain because it is very heavy when filled with water.

My cats weren’t drinking enough water before I got them this fountain, but I catch them drinking from it all the time now!

As long as you keep up on the cleaning (once a week) it does not become dirty and does not need intensive cleaning.

Our two cats and one dog protested if their dishes were not filled with water “fresh” enough for their tastes. The dog would refuse to drink out of his bowl and try less savory water sources and the cats would splash their water outside of the dish. Seriously, I have enough to do without constantly filling their water dishes to their particular freshness levels.

My solution was to get rid of the pets (bluffing) which made my husband get this water system. Now, I consider the “fresh” water problem for our pets solved. One cat plays with the water flow but water outside the bowl is minimum compared to the previous situation.

I am not sure what this “Platinum” version has over the regular one (larger water tank perhaps?) but it meets our requirements of keeping our pets satisfied with fresh water. The directions provided make it easy to set up and everything needed is included. Water gets poured into the reservoir tank in the back and you will need to buy replacement filters (just like regular water filter systems) for continued use. This system does need to be plugged into a wall outlet. There is a sound of constant water running and the sound becomes labored when the water tank is running low. We need to add water around 3 times per week but it will vary depending on your animals.

This system is great but not perfect. The sound of running water is loud. Perhaps the water spout did not have to be so high up and allow for enticing water play for my cats and the loud sound? The charcoal filter leaks easily and I find myself cleaning charcoal debris from the bowl more then I would like but overall, happy with the purchase. I love anything that makes my life easier and this certainly fits the bill!
